Excursions and surroundings

For golf enthusiasts, the golf club “L’Ugolino” is only 20 minutes away; it is the facility with the longest tradition in Italy. Within a couple of hours’ drive are numerous other courses, such as Castelfalfi, Poggio Medici Mugello, Punta Ala, Monsummano, and Le Pavoniere Prato.

If you stay longer it is worth a trip to the sea. There are magnificent beaches within a two-hour drive, such as Forte dei Marmi, Viareggio, Porto S. Stefano and Porto Ercole. 
It is possible to make guided treks in the area. On the other hand, if you wish to discover the countryside, you can do so by Mountainbike or Scooter rental.

Dario Cecchini

A totally exceptional character is the “butcher” Dario Cecchini who behind the counter plays Dante there: he is world famous for his extraordinary specialties that can be tasted during the day in his store. However, we suggest you visit one of his restaurants: “Officina della Bistecca” where you can enjoy La Bistecca alla Fiorentina and its sisters La Costata and La Panzanese, “Solo Ciccia” where a special ancient menu from the butcher’s kitchen is served, a Hamburger served in the sense of good fast food. It is also very good from the Cecchini Panini Truck. Each one is an adventure in itself!

Maccellaio Filippo Checcucci
Filippo’s family-run butcher shop is located directly vis a vis the villa. He offers a good typical Florentine lunch.  You can also enjoy his excellent homemade cured meats from local traditions at breakfast in the villa.

Osteria Le Panzanelle
Osteria Restaurant located in the heart of Chianti.
Here you eat like among friends while enjoying refined Tuscan cuisine, with local, quality products.

Oltre il Giardino
It is the ideal place in the center of Panzano, with a beautiful garden, for all those who love and wish to enjoy excellent traditional Tuscan cuisine. Family-run, it guarantees a preparation of dishes respecting the ancient flavors.
